Zarni was 17 years old and a high school student in the 88’s revolution. Quickly, he engaged in politics against the new military dictatorship that replaced that of General Ne Win.
He was put in jail in 1989 for 9 years, undergoing torture.
He become later a member of the first group that created 88 Generation, former students who decided not to go into exile but resist the junta inside the country.
